SUPER EXCITED!!!! This will open the gates with affiliates as it is too hard for non-tech users to try and start a Business if they cannot customize their website easily. Thank you for the announcement! Very curious how this will implement with current pages and templates.
I am the CTO of SleepingBaby.com (a shark tank company).
We are building Effortlessbranding.com with DecoNetworks. One issue I have with the designer is that we can not monkey patch the JS that holds the designer HTML in a variable. (we can to some extent).
Can you get me in touch with your devs so I can ask them a couple technical questions concerning the JS we can monkey patch? This may be the easiest way to redesign the designer on version 7.
Current templates will continue to work and function as they do now... with no knew templates.
Existing templates will be discontinued and wont get the new widgets. Of course you can stay on an existing template and will work exactly how it does now.
Essentially its a complete new technology powering the templates so we cant migrate them over.
I guess that answers my question. I appreciate all the hard work Deco is putting into the new platform, but damn, they didn't have to re-invent the wheel to make me happy all I need to market on mobile is a good responsive theme and a skinned designer which I have seen some deco sites have. Are their deco couches that can give me a designer like tee junctions? or do we have to look outside of deco for that also?
Tee Junction is just using our standard designer. They did some basic CSS to make the buttons more flat, and load it inline in the page. Is this all you want?
Yeah, I understand they are using the standard designer. I have tried to make mine similar layout, with CSS but cannot achieve the results I want. I am indifferent to the button styles and the feel of their designer just the layout on mobile.
If its easy, basic CSS, why not offer it as a temp solution for all of us waiting for the responsive designer?
And no that's not all I want, I want everything deco is working on but yesterday
I really want to be able to increase conversion rates on mobile, that's my main objective, I believe a temp solution would increase them slightly. Since Deco doesn't have the confidence in a completion date on V8 before the fourth quarter, I need to do something.
In order to get the designer responsive is not a temporary solution. Quite literally needed a re-write. So not a simple CSS change as I've done here for styling.
We're not working on one that just displays on a mobile. Other solutions claim their design is responsive based on that fact. Well, so are we then What we mean is a true responsive designer that changes based on the device.
Let me know what you think of the above and I'll add in the code.
Brenden your example designer does not adjust to screen size at all? As I said, I'm indifferent to the color and feel of their designer, just the "layout on mobile" Must not be simple CSS as you said. So is there a Deco couch that can give us these results? very frustrating

Hi Greg,
So when v8 is launched, all existing templates will still function but will not have any of the new enhancements?
