Adding a design catalog using custom HTML codes

2 years 1 month ago #21778 by tgazzillo
Greetings all,
I'm trying to add Dakota Collectibles catalog to my website for my customers to view. I know that they will not be able to use these in the design part of my site, but they will have an idea of what I have to offer. Below is an email that Virginia over at Dakota sent me. I've tried adding this using the custom HTML Widget, but I haven't had any luck. I have a specific page I would like to place this on, does anyone know how I can go about incorporating this to my site? Thank you in advance for your help,

Tom

Hello,
I received an email from Dakota collectibles that will allow me to place
their catalog on my website (see Below), How do I get this to work? I
tried using a custom HTML widget, but that doesn't work. Is it possible
to use this? I wanted to place on my "Downloads" Page.Greetings! Follow the instructions below to integrate the Dakota Collectibles Associate Online Catalog into your website. First copy and paste the following code (in red) into the <head>
</head> tag , on the page where the AOC is going to be placed on.. <style type="text/css">html, body{height:100%}body { margin-left: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;}</style> Then, copy and paste the following code (in red) into the <body>
</body> tag, wherever you would like to see the AOC on your
website. <iframe src=" http://www.dakotacollectibles.com/dc_catalog/default.aspx " width="100%" frameborder="0" style="height:100%"> </iframe> And you're done! If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks for using DakotaCollectibles.com! regard, Virginia

Hey Tom, the second part is what you would use if you wanted to add the page from dakota collectibles as an iframe onto your site. If you are on DN8 theme, you can simply drop in an HTML widget onto the page and paste that code into the source container in widgets properties. You may need to adjust the width and height values as I'm not sure 100% would work best.

Hi Cris,
Thanks for the speedy reply. So just the "<iframe src=" http://www.dakotacollectibles.com/dc_catalog/default.aspx " width="100%" frameborder="0" style="height:100%"> </iframe>" Part of the HTML? I tried this with the HTML widget and nothing happened.

Couple things to note, if your site has SSL enabled, the site you're trying to embed also needs to be ssl secured so you would need to adjust the URL in the iframe code to use https instead of http. It looks like the dakotacollectibles site should work over https. Also you might need to change the height to something in pixels not sure the percentage height will work but you could try it first.

Hey Cris,
This works now (for most part). I now have an issue with the link connecting to the Dakota site (this is on them and they're working on it). Thanks for your help.
