Is there a way for me to enable the embroidery process without adding automatically hundreds of items to my site?
I get this message "By enabling embroidery you will add 401 items to your system"
I want to pick just the items i do carry (maybe couple of dozens)
This happens when you're using SmartSelect, we auto select the items to enable based on your process selection etc. Once the items are added you can set the ones you don't plan to use as inactive or make them available in Business Hub only.
You can go into Products > Select Catalogs and uncheck everything however that means all those existing blank items in your system would be removed and if you've built decorated items on them you could lose those as well. I would not recommend it.
