Sending passwords via email

Sending passwords via email was created by DigiTees
Does anyone else have customers who get grumpy about their password being sent by email? Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks, Niki

Hi Niki,

We have a task to change how this works. It's assigned to a developer to address so hopefully we'll have a solution for you soon.

A workaround you can do for now is to edit the out-bound email templates and remove the password section. help.deconetwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/2...-and-Order-Templates

The emails you want to edit are all the 'User Account Emails' emails.

Thanks for the quick reply Brenden - so I just highlight and delete the lines with password details?

How will they know how to log back in if they forget their password though?

This is the tricky part :)

Now you can reset the password for them in Business Hub and let them know the temp password. Once they log in they can choose their own. We need to change how this works and when you click 'Forget Password' sent a reset email to the registered email. But for now you can implement the above which will prevent the passwords being sent in plain text.

Reword with "We need to activate the ability for customers to log in with their social media credentials" :silly: :silly: :silly:

Hi Brenden, just wondering if there is an update on this? I get quite a few of customers angry at getting their password sent via email, but I don't have the time to manually send them temporary passwords like in the workaround above. Thanks, Niki
