What is next for deco?

What is next for deco? was created by smurk
Now that deco 8 is out (5 years to late), what is in the works with deco going forward? There hasn't been a post on this so lets start a thread! Can you convince us not to jump ship?

We just need to be able to clone decoration modules or create our own with the current ones we have but with more options. We also need the back end to be responsive so we can use it on the go and not be stuck on a desktop... In general, I just hope we can get info on what’s in the works.. I’ve removed deco completely from our site and at this point trying to figure out if it’s worth keeping after 5 years of investing into it.. sad and disappointed :/

Hey Guys,

Greg here. Been head down lately , raising my head for air and to communicate :).

We are still in maintainance mode post DN8.
Since we released DN8 , we have only received great positive reviews. We have managed to deliver a flexible web store creation tool that rivals, if not beats anything in the web site building space to date.
The project was massive ( really its a whole product in itself) , so we have been rounding off corners still.

We are working on adding Search Facets ( filter by price , color , size ect.)
Adding a copy page to DN8.
Adding more themes.
Creating more panels.

8.005 is in BETA and should be available next monday.
8.006 is well underway.

In terms of larger projects we are looking into more integrations.. aka Shipsation / zapier. These things havent made it into coding yet as we are in analyzing phase. Weighing up all things in the top 100 ideas list.
Vinyl is a much larger job, and in the short term we would like to get momentum happening in smaller tasks that deliver equal bang for buck, this is where the top 100 list really comes in handy!.

Cheers,
Greg

Hi,

Thanks for posting.. in all honesty, do you think we will see better flexibility with print modules (new ones being added or be able to clone the current ones) and will fundraising sites improve anytime soon? within the next 6 months?

Hey Donny,

I'm curious - what better flexibility are you looking for with print modules?

when it comes to screen printing, there are some products we can only print 1 -2 colors on while others (apparel) we can print up to 10... Currently there is no way to limit the number of colors at the product level and it would be nice to either limit this at the product level or at least be able to clone the screen print module and set the # of color limits to 1, 2 or whatever..

We are also going to start offering engraving and I know I can do this with the DTG area based pricing module but it would be nice to clone it and name it what we want and use it for something else vs using the same module for 2 things.. i hope this makes sense..

Hey Donny,

I agree with you since we offer products made with different processes and currently, I'm in a dilemma I do offer engraving among other processes and soon to be adding DTG, and I also believe that a clone DTG and screen print module clones would help a lot in the meantime there is a proper vinyl module.

You actually can do this with Deconetwork and its rather easy to do so.

First, you would need to create two seperate price sheets. Your first price sheet would allow for a maximum of 2 colors. Your second price sheet would allow for a maximum of 10 colors. Next, you would go to each product and assign the corresponding price sheet associated with that product. This would solve your problem and also give you the capability to control this at the product level.

Try it out and let me know what you think.
