Shipping !! was created by Sewsublime
I know Deco is very busy making great improvements but having a bit of a moaning day sorry.

I know this has been mentioned many times before, but please please can there be a tax option on shipping please!
We also need a weight cap on a specific shipping options (example maximum weight 2kg Royal mail, so this option does not show if weight is above. At the moment all you can do is 2 kg to infinity!

Thank you

Hi,

So we already have a general tax setting "Apply tax to shipping".. guessing this isn't what you are after?

Let me lodge the weight cap one and hope its not a  biggie :)

Cheers,
Greg

The weight cap issue has been on the improvement requests "for ages"

Along with it was a need for garment weights to be corrected & a packaging weight to be included.

To highlight why: Royal Mail 1.998KG £12 versus Royal Mail 2.002KG £23.98................. Nothing looks sillier than standing in a queue unpacking garments to remove bagging & tags.........

Hi Greg

We need to select tax on individual shipping methods not across all, as some have tax and some don't

Hey Darren , Just curious ,
what is the scenario when particular taxes apply to certain shipping methods and not others ( that aren't already excluded based on region of course).

Also, with the max weight for shipping methods.. is this a max weight of an item that can be included.?

Cheers,
Greg

uk postage is tax free whereas couriers incur 20% VAT

UK postage has a standard weight limit of 2kg per parcel but is the sensible option for small packages & outlying delivery addresses
they have parcel size restrictions too but that's an issue we can take care of with pre-made boxes

If it goes over 2kg then the prices go silly

Yep agree the size of the package is not a huge issue, just needs to "not" show that option to the customer for that shipping method if the maximum weight we set has been exceeded.

We're just setting up our new DN site, and the fact that there's no cap on postal methods is crazy. Please please please, we need this.

To someone who mentioned that there should be variable VAT rates for shipping...this isn't true. Even though 1st & 2nd Class are 0% rated by the RM, as a business you MUST charge VAT on all shipping charges - if you're VAT registered, of course.

I thought the VAT RM shipping charge depends if you are sending Vatable goods?  So is this the same with kids clothing?

It's simply WAY too complicated. 7 pages of pure gibberish from Gov.UK

Basically, read it as you will......... It says something along the lines of the article for sale drives the VAT, so as you say there's a case for not charging VAT if it's entirely kids clothing.

No way is it worthwhile trying to figure a way to programme a website to take account of that...........

Just charge VAT on all shipping, you'll never get hauled for it by the VAT man as it's just not practicable to implement.

What about mixed VAT good? Does the percentage of goods value indicate the percentage of the shipping cost VAT liability.

It's just mad.

Charge VAT on it all and you're OK
