My company uses Authorize.net for CC processing, but I think this applies to any/all processing providers:
Today I learned that if the CC data provided by Deco during a purchase transaction does not include "'LEVEL 2 DATA", it costs the merchant (that's me) up to 0.4% additional per transaction.
You can Google Level 2 data to see details, but essentially it breaks out these pieces of data:
SHIPPING CHARGE (enter zero if none)
CUSTOMER'S PO NUMBER - if they don't use a PO, use your own invoice #. Leaving it blank causes your rate to go up.)
I don't know exactly WHY these data bits are important, but again it costs more money if you don't supply it.
It appears that Deco does NOT flow these data fields into the merchant account. I hope someone from Deco can respond to this post and let me know if there's a setting I can change to enable this, or perhaps that this will be addressed in an upcoming upgrade.
