How many hours a week are you putting into running your Facebook business page?

As we reach the halfway point in 2021, the importance of running a successful business page is becoming more and more important. It’s a trend that most of you probably jumped on years ago, but are you taking full advantage of them today?

In this article, we’re going to focus on Facebook, the go-to social media platform for businesses looking to grow their brand. As of this year, Facebook is home to more than 80 million business pages, by far the most of any social media platform.

But simply setting up a Facebook business page and posting the occasional picture or link to a product you’re trying to sell is not a recipe for success. There are many things that go into running a successful page and we here at DecoNetwork are here to open your eyes to those ideas.

Follow along as we give you tips on how to unfreeze your struggling Facebook business page, or start a brand new one from scratch that will without a doubt bring you a boost in business.

Tip 1: Set Goals

Before you sit down and either create a brand new Facebook business page, or improve upon the one you already have, a good idea is to set some goals and put a plan in place.

Recent studies show that most business owners looking to start a Facebook business page want to increase their brand awareness. Others might be interested in increasing community engagement.

No matter what your goals are, make sure you have a vision for your page as it will make the other tips below a lot easier to comprehend and execute.

Tip 2: Find your Voice

A lot of things go into posting engaging content that followers of your business will want to see. Remember that what you post doesn’t always have to come from the salesman angle. The object is to bring more eyeballs to your Facebook page and let your followers decide for themselves.

The main objective to posting regularly is to engage with your audience. If a reader is gracious enough to like your page, make sure you are bringing them fresh, up-to-date content. In the beginning, it might be hard to determine what your followers will respond to the most. Try different things and see what brings in the most impressions, engagements and shares.

If you’re in the position of finding your voice on Facebook, don’t get discouraged. Keep posting, keep generating content and the likes and shares will come.

Tip 3: Don’t Overshare

One of the biggest mistakes you can make running a Facebook business page is to post too much. Yes, you need to be posting content on a regular basis. But there is a fine line between posting the right amount and posting too much.

So how much should you be posting? According to most studies, 1-2 times a day should be the max. From a weekly standpoint, three times per week should be the minimum.

If you are posting more than the recommended amount a day, you will increase your chances of hurting your relationship with your followers. Your followers don’t want their Facebook timeline flooded with posts from your business on a daily basis. If that happens, you will run the risk of them unliking your page. If that happens, the likelihood of them ever returning greatly diminishes.

On the flip side, if you are failing to post 1-2 times a day and aren’t hitting the minimum suggestion of three times a week, your engagement metrics will take a huge hit.

Stay within these parameters and you will be well on your way.

Tip 4: Have Conversations

If you’re running a business, your communication skills should already be top-notch. Apply those skills to your Facebook business page. Make sure you’re taking the time to have conversations with your followers and keep them interested.

If a follower comments on a post, take the time to respond. If a follower has a question about your business, answer it. The more that you engage with your followers, the better chance you have of turning them into future customers. It will also tell Facebook’s algorithm that your business page is worth looking at and will start recommending it.

Facebook has placed an emphasis on engagement within the platform. The more your posts generate conversion, the better chance they have of being seen.

Tip 5: Create Videos

When you open up Facebook, odds are you’re seeing a lot of videos on your timeline. In a world where keeping people engaged and interested is becoming increasingly difficult, businesses are turning to videos as a solution.

Producing and editing a video might not be in your wheelhouse and that’s perfectly fine. But that doesn’t mean you can’t create great video content. So what are your options?

We recommend Facebook Live. At no cost to you, you will be able to stream live video footage to your followers that will allow you to engage with them in real time. What you talk about is up to you. Facebook Live is a fantastic way to engage with people and let the readers get a look at what your business is all about.

Good Luck!

The benefits of running a Facebook business page are endless. Yes, it requires a good amount of work to keep it maintained. No, you’re not going to find success overnight. Just like your business itself, it takes time to build something from the ground up and make it successful.

If you follow the same principles that you did when you started your business, there’s no reason why you can’t do the exact same thing with your Facebook business account.
